Soosmita Sinha is an Associate Attorney at Hirzel Law, where she assists condominium and homeowners’ associations with a wide range of legal matters. Her practice focuses on helping clients navigate complex legal and governance issues through practical solutions, strategic advocacy, and responsive counsel.

Ms. Sinha’s interest in condominium and community association law stems from both professional and personal experience. As President of her condominium association board, she works closely with fellow board members, property managers, and legal counsel on matters involving governing documents, vendor and management contracts, rule enforcement, compliance, and community governance. This firsthand experience provides her with a practical understanding of the challenges facing community associations and the importance of balancing legal obligations with the needs of residents and the broader community.

Before joining Hirzel Law, Ms. Sinha represented tenants in residential housing matters through Detroit’s Right to Counsel program, where she managed a high-volume caseload involving landlord-tenant disputes, habitability claims, subsidized housing matters, and land contract issues. She handled all phases of litigation independently, including legal research, motion practice, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy. Her experience in housing-related litigation provides valuable insight into the legal and practical issues affecting tenants, property owners, and managers.

Ms. Sinha brings a uniquely multidisciplinary background as an attorney, pharmacist, entrepreneur, and international legal professional. Before entering the legal profession, she spent more than a decade in community pharmacy practice, education, and leadership, developing extensive experience in operations, regulatory compliance, and team management. During law school, she pursued her interests in international law and human rights through a fellowship with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland, and following graduation, continued her work in Geneva with the World Health Organization, contributing to initiatives at the intersection of health, human rights, and public policy. She later founded a nonprofit organization in Geneva dedicated to advancing legal literacy, decent work, and dignity for health workers worldwide. Drawing on experiences across law, healthcare, business, governance, and public policy, Ms. Sinha brings a collaborative, strategic, and solutions-oriented approach to client service.

Ms. Sinha earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School, where she served as an Associate Editor of the Michigan Journal of International Law and was selected as both a Geneva International Fellow and an MLaw Legal Practitioner Fellow. She is admitted to practice in Michigan and remains active in the legal community through professional organizations and leadership roles. Recently, she participated in the Inns of Court program with both the Detroit Bar Association and Oakland County Bar Association.

Outside of her legal practice, Ms. Sinha volunteers with community initiatives, mentors emerging professionals, and enjoys immersion travel, painting, Argentine tango, and exploring creative and entrepreneurial ventures.
