Managing Member Kevin Hirzel joined his fellow members of the College of Community Association Lawyers (CCAL) at the 2026 Community Associations Institute (CAI) Annual Conference & Exposition: CommunityNOW in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Mr. Hirzel took part in two sessions during the conference. He co-hosted the Attorney Shoptalk & Idea Exchange with Augustus Shaw IV, Esq., CCAL, a forum where community association attorneys from across the country trade ideas and work through the challenges facing the communities they serve. He also served on the CCAL panel “Legal Trends Reshaping Community Associations: What Boards and Managers Need to Know,” presented alongside fellow CCAL members Elina Gilbert and Augustus Shaw IV. The panel examined the legislation, case law, and emerging legal exposures that boards and managers should keep on their radar in 2026.
“Conversations like these are exactly why I value CCAL and CAI,” said Mr. Hirzel. “There is no substitute for getting in a room with talented colleagues to push our practice forward and, ultimately, better serve community associations. I am grateful to CAI for putting on another excellent conference.”
Mr. Hirzel is a Fellow of the College of Community Association Lawyers, a distinction held by fewer than 200 attorneys nationwide, and is the author of Hirzel’s Handbook on operating condominiums and homeowners associations in both Michigan and Illinois.
